ok, people.

I am back at work after my two week vacation... Yay for work! I have lots of stuff to do to keep me busy until this weekend... which is good. And this weekend I get to go see Chad! Yay! So yeah... all you Memphis-and-surrounding-area people, I'll prolly see you sometime this weekend... Dunno what plans Chad has made as of yet, but I heard rumors they might include fireworks, food, and maybe some jello... although they will not include, I'm told, grilled cheese sammiches *sigh*

Meanwhile, my goals for this week include:
  • finding my car keys
  • finishing the Rev2 stuff that appeared on my desk
  • learning how to open a Live Wire can without getting orange soda everywhere

That should keep me busy, I guess. *grin*

Good morning all...

I am back home. Sorry for the lack of Audio posts... I really intended to do them every day, but the theme parks got the best of me.... having fun is hard work, y'know?

So, I went to Islands of Adventure... And rode just about evertyhing there... If you get the chance to go, definately ride the Dueling Dragons, and ride the Ice Dragon side first. And don't forget the Hulk. Yeah.

And, by the way.... Dr. Suess Landing is awesome, spend lots of time there, and ride everything. Eventually, I'll put up some pitures of the trip... when I get around to it.

Meanwhile, funny antidotes about the trip must wait. I need to sleep and clean the house and uh... sleep some more...

Grr.

So I'm at that annoying point where I have finished everything I was working on and yet I can't start anything new because I only have an hour left and I'll never finish it and I won't be back for two weeks so it wouldn't be fair to leave it for anyone else to finish but I can't leave because it's friday and I had to put my hours in TES before ten and I put my hours in assuming I would work until 1500 and I can't chage it as it has already been submitted and approved and I'll feel bad if I leave an hour early but yet what's the point of staying if I'm not going to get and work done?

Maybe I'll find some pictures to edit. *sigh*

Random philisophical thought:

So sometimes, my relationship with God remids me a lot of Calvin's (from Calvin and Hobbes) relationship with his dad. I come up with my clipboard, my statitstics all nicely compiled, and inform God that His approval ratings are slipping... He responds with something along the lines of "And?".... So I inform Him what He can do to bring the polls back in His favor. And He smiles, and nods, and carries on being God. I carry on being me... And somewhere down the road, I realize I'm wrong, and He's right, as always.

Just a thought.

NOOOOO! Dr. Little retired.... So what the %^&* is he doing teaching Programming Languages next semester? I put off taking that class for like, two semesters so I would take it after he retired. It's not fair... I can;t get away from that man. This'll be like, the 3rd or 4th class I've had to take from him... and I have to take it this semester, I don't have much of a choice. It's not fair ::stamps foot::

The 100 Greast songs of the past 25 years, as chosen by VH1.... How the crap did Smells Like Teen Spirit make number 1? I mean, really.

And, in case you were wondering, 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music, as chosen by CMT. So how did Friends in Low Places make number 6? And how did the Eagles and Ray Charles make this list at all? Where there not 100 country songs tgood enough to list, so they had to steal from other genres?

From the Dilbert Newsletter By Scott Adams:

We were at a restaurant and I ordered the veal Parmesan. One of the Induhviduals in my group indignantly asked how I could possibly order that. I remarked that I only eat it at places that serve "dolphin-safe" veal. She got a deliciously confused look on her face for a few seconds and then said, "oh..."

I would like to point out that the CaER awards ceremony I went to today was probably the lamest, stupidest waste of time and resources I have ever seen. No one should be made to play cheesy carnival games and sing a song about CaER to the tune of YMCA....

And middle-aged men shouldn't dress up as female clowns. Ever. It's just wrong.

And... if your are going to speak to a large group of people, and try to do a cheerleader style cheer... Speak clearly. Please.

FYI, I will be more or less out of the office for the next two days, as I have meetings all day both days *sigh* At least I get free lunch out of the deal.

So yeah... if you need me, best bet is the cell phone. Barring that, good luck *grin*

Blah.... my concentration has gone out the window. I suppose it's good that I don't have anything like, really mind consuming to do today... because I have absolutely no concentration right now. You know, like when you're reading, and you finish a sentence, only to discover you have no idea what the first part of the sentence said... and you do thins, like, 4 or five times before you figure out what the sentence actually says...

Sleep would be good. I have a feeling that sleep dep is to blame for this one... grr.

eh..... this one fits better:

Your name of Dorinne gives you a very idealistic but passive outlook on life. You desire culture and all the refinements of life but you are inclined to live in your dreams. Although you would like to do many things, procrastination undermines your accomplishment and success in life. You do not like to create issues and will do anything to avoid a conflict. Making decisions is difficult for you without the support and approval of others. This name gives you a very sensitive nature, making you feel much that you do not understand. Your feelings are easily hurt, at which times you are inclined to withdraw and become uncommunicative. Although you desire the friendship and association of others, you find it difficult to express your thoughts through the spoken word, and others find you hard to get to know. It is much more natural for you to express your deeper thoughts in writing. Inner tension can deplete your physical vitality. You are inclined to indulge in rich foods that lack proper nourishment. The physical weaknesses due to this name centre in the heart and respiratory organs, and in the fluid functions.

Listen to this:

The name of Deedee creates a friendly, sociable, charming nature, but causes you to be too easily influenced by others. While you find it easy to meet and mix, and can appear agreeable and compromising in conversation, you can become dogmatic and forceful if pressed too far. Others learn that you cannot be told what to do and you seldom change your mind once it is made up. You prefer situations that allow a degree of independence, but are reluctant to take on a demanding work-load or responsibility. In a position dealing with the public, you could do well because of your friendly personality, interest in people, and desire to please. When asked, you are able to give others good advice that you would probably not follow yourself, but must guard against being too opinionated in controversial matters. The physical weaknesses due to this name center in the fluids of the body and the senses of the head, causing headaches, eye, teeth, or severe sinus conditions; also, kidney or bladder weaknesses.

Annoying. Phone. Still. Not. Working.

Actually, it's not the phone that's annoying... it's the phone company... the phone is still really cool. It would just be cooler if it actually interfaced with the Cingular network.

They promise it will be up by sometime today... and it better, or I will yell and kick and scream and stuff. That would be fun *eVil grin*

Meanwhile, I have no phone. *sigh* And I'm out of work to do again... I just gave Dawn the Summer Feature stuff I was working on. So I have like, nothing else to do. And Cindy's out today and tomorrow.... so it looks like I'm going to be making up things to do for work. At least I don't have a 10 hour day to fill, I guess.

Cool unrelated thing: I got another autograph :-) David went and interviewed Fred Leslie, one of the Shuttle astornauts, and brought back autographs for everybody. Yay! But my cube wall is too small to hold much more... I may have to take some home or something.

my new phone isn't interfacing with the Cingular network. Cingular doesn't think my phone is activated. Which is funny, since I got it at the Cingular booth... but htey screwed up.

So if you're trying to get me on my cell phone, you'll have to try my home number. I should have it fixed by 0800 or 0900 tomorrow, at the latest.

Annoying. Grr.

I got a new phone :-) It's pretty and grey and it has lots of cool features and stuff. And my number didn't change. Yay! So yeah... I have a new phone, and lots of daytime minutes, and all kinds of cool stuff. \

I've read 1 1/2 Mary Higgins Clark books today.... I'll be well through the 2nd by the end of tonight, and probably halfway through a 3rd... we'll see. Reading is a good escape from reality, sometimes. And I got like, 11 Mary Higgins Clark books this weekend *grin* Y'all may not see me for a while.

Anyway.... off to read some more... maybe lying around all day will let my back return to somewhat normal...
