So I started this new diet thing this past Monday... eDiets, if anyone is interested. Basically, I'm on the "eat healthy and hope to lose the weight you gained since you got married so you can fit in your clothes again" plan.
So I'm what, 5 days into it? I have this constant awful urge to eat things that aren't on my meal plan, just because. It's weird. Can't explain it.
Other than that, I guess I'm doing ok. The dinner meal pans come with recipes, which has given me and Chad a chance to try out new food (yay!), most of which has turned out pretty good. I am eating a huge amount of vegetables, a great deal of fruit, and a whole lot of dairy stuff... in addition to the 2-liters of water I'm supposed to drink every day. Oh yeah, and eating breakfast... that's kinda a new thing for me.
Poor Chad's just kinda hanging with it... I filled the fridge up with salad and other rabbit food last weekend, and I'm going to have to do the same thing Sunday when I go shopping again. He's stuck eating the dinners with me, which hasn't proved to be too bad... We'll see how it goes, I guess.
But yeah... it's interesting. Richard and Chad and I are planning a trip to look at schools at some point, so we shall have an interesting time trying to pack food for my low-meat (3oz a day or less!) diet, and his Atkins diet.
In other news, looks like a weekend in Starkville this weekend. Might go see the Hitchhiker's Guide movie tonight... waiting on final plans. Oh yeah, and I still need to plan what I want to do with the rest of my life. Any ideas?
My Tax return came in (yay for e-file).... and I want one of these so bad I could bust. But I'm still having problems justifying spending the money on it... It would be really awesome, and I would use it a lot... but I don't need it... so it boils down to being just a toy. A very expensive toy.
Poor married students aren't supposed to be able to get expensive toys. They're supposed to like, scrounge to buy enough paper to do their assignments, and eat spam and ramen noodles. But, on the other hand, income tax money is like, "free money" anyway (at least in my mind). So as it doesn't specifically have a purpose... and we're not going to starve/fail to pay the rent without it... I am very tempted to buy my spiffy computer toy. *sigh*
Finished the taxes, minus Chad's signature on the state ones. That was a hassle... note to self: never change states of residency and get married in the same year, it makes taxes way harder than they need to be.
Quote of the day: Melephone? What is that? It's like a big brass thing you can make a bong out of. Woah, that's so awesome! --Overheard at Wesley
In case you wondered, Sin City is an awesome movie. The cinematography was incredible, the movie actually looked like a graphic novel. Which is way cool. However... it was not a movie for people who dislike nudity. Just thought I'd warn you. I went to see it opening night, and the couple at the end of the row I was sitting on got up and left at the first pair of boobies they saw. (I'm not sure exactly what they were expecting...)
But yeah, the plot (of all the sotries in the movie) was well thought out and followed the novels pretty closely, from what I hear. It made for a really great movie. :-)
Saturday, Chad was LARPing in Columbus, and William and Bob and I went out to Cappe's and ate wonderful steak. Then William and I chilled at my apartment for a few minutes, and went to the Hunt Club to people watch and celebrate... and then came back here to play DDR. (actually, I played DDR, and William made fun of the Techno remix of the Neverening Story theme). And Matt joined us after a bit.
Then Sunday, which was actually my birthday, I slept until 2pm, which was really 3pm, because I forget about daylight savings time. And I called my mom, and she talked for like, an hour and a half. Then Chad took me out to dinner, ribs and chicken, which was really awesome. And we came back to the house, baked an awesome chocolate cake, and watched the Pagemaster. And two episodes of Stargate Atlantis. And i spent the birthday money Grandmother sent me on an Evanescence CD and the Pope's new book (which Chad said was a great combination).
And today, I ate lunch with William, and then discovered my class was cancelled. So I've been doing homework. But our wireless router is down, and I don't have the passowrd to it to fix it... so I'm tied to a land line. Blah.
Things I got for my birthday: Smart Mass Thinking Putty (from William) Albert Einstien Action Figure (also from William) The Book of Erotic Fantasy (from Chad)... relax, it's a roleplaying book, not a pr0n book. It's art. I swear. (actually, it's mostly words and stats).
