New Homeowners

So since my last post:
  1. Chad and I bought a house. We are now the proud owners of a gianormous house, plus the gianormous mortgage payments to go with it.
  2. We started moving. Sort of. As in, we can't finish moving until we have Intar-Web at the new place, which will be like, Saturday.
  3. Steve Irwin died, which was sad. (I hope the american media leaves his family alone for a while).
  4. They finally annouced the date/time that the evanescence tickets for houston go on sale. (ironically, it when I should be at the new house waiting on the cable guy. Chad can take first shift waiting, I guess, whilst I sit on ticketmaster until they start selling).
  5. I bought the most awesomest china cabinet eVar at a garage sale for $75.
  6. I convinced Chad to let me paint a wall in the living room. I bought awesome blue paint for the wall... and should maybe start painting tomorrow, assuming I can find a suitable ladder (didn't think about the whole 9-foot ceiling thing ahead of time).

That is all. I mean, I'm sure it's not, but I have to be up in like, 6 hours. So it is for now.

Comments:
1) I like the Deedee newsbytes format of the last couple of posts.
2) I think all new posts should be six random Deedee-related facts.
3) Congrats on the house. Can't wait to see it.
4) Uh, I actually don't have six things to say. Starting my feedback as an homage to your post turns out to be a bad idea.
5) There's maybe a tiny, tiny chance I'll head Houston-ward around Columbus Day, if I get off my butt trying to find a co-author for the next book, and have any success finding interest.
6) Um... uh... Bacon tastes good?

lol... I didn't realize there were six bullets in each list.

Yeah, so that's how my thought have been organized lately, which sucks when trying to write papers and do homeowkr and stuff. Somehow, professors do not like papers that say:
1) I read the paper.
2) it sucked a lot, as it had nothing to do with anything that I am now or ever will be remotely interested in.
3) I was interested to see the word "neonate" used to refer to a newborn, as opposed to (more familiar in my case) a vampire who is younger than 50 years old, or some other kind of n00b.
4) I was impressed by the fact that 14 of the 56 pages of the paper were references.
5) That being said, this was still the longest paper ever.
6) Did I mention that the topic doesn't have anything to do with my research intrests?

When you know if/when you'll be in Housotn, let us know :-) If you need a place to stay, we have plenty of room (although we aren't exactly close to the space center anymore...). :-)
