    I find it funny that Chad is teaching self-defense to astronauts. you know, in case the Martians and Moon-men know martial arts.

    Actually.... he teaches self-defense to non-astronaut type people, like me.

    He teaches astronauts how to use/maintain/fix life support systems on the ISS (or that's how I understand it, anyway).
