In case you're wondering, she didn't die.

And in the end, that's all that really matters, right? (Note: this is not technically a spoiler for anything, since I'm not elaborating on the who or the where or the in what. If you figure it out... that's not my fault).

Update on the lost kitty. He found his parents. Chad had taken him to the vet (on the way back to our house) to check for a chip... no dice. But then our building foreman for our neighborhood said our neighbors down the street had lost a cat... Turns out, the cat rode from our house to JSC (not a short trip!) on top of Chad's spare tire under the truck. Crazy stuff. But he's home now, actually was home a couple of days after we found him, so all is good.

And I found an AWANA program here, and am the newest Cubbie leader there. Yay for 3 & 4 year olds! And being given an excuse to sing Father Abraham, and other silly children's songs, at least once a week.

And pumpkin seeds. Yay for pumpkin seeds, too.

Reminder: RenFest is fast approaching. We only have one spare bed and an air mattress... so reserve space at our house early (& often. Like voting!) :-)

Can't feel the force that holds me down / but I believe in gravity

So…  anyone want a kitty?  Because we might have an extra, if no one claims it…   Chad rescued a lost kitty at JSC (very domestic, friendly, with a collar and no tag)… when he called the security people, they said it would probably be put down at the end of the day if no one claimed it.

So we’re bringing it home, and we'll try to find the real owners.  Meanwhile, we'll have an extra cat in the house, which should be interesting and all that… hopefully Kitty won't eat her.

Otherwise, we're our normal boring selves.  I'm working, Chad's working, we play games sometimes, and yeah… that's about it.  Boring people, I know.

Tiny tiny kitties :-)

So Chad and I spent some time looking at tiny tiny kitties online yesterday... I am thinking about aquiring another one. Chad's mom, interestingly enough, is thinking about sending me one (or 5) of hers... but none of them are tiny tiny.

However, I pointed Chad to this (nsfw!) comic, and he said now he won't buy me a kitty for my birthday. ;-) (interesting side note, that strip is actually one of my favorite interactions between those two characters... I miss Queen of Wands).

Today is going to rock. I have decreed it. Plus, I just finished my homework, so as soon as I'm done giving make-up tests and goign to class and stuff... I'm done for the day. Chad will be home early, to help me confront the exterminators that are failing at exterminating... and then we can like, go to dinner or something fun. Also, I got to look at my new pretty daisies that I planted in the front yard this morning, and they made me happy. I like daisies.

I decided the birthday crown thing wouldn't work so well here at rice... *sigh* So I'm wearing my Jessica Rabbit shirt instead. I'll probably dress up to go out tonight (just because I can, and because I fit into a bunch of cute dresses and stuff I couldn't wear last year)... we shall see.

anyway. I suppose I'm going to find something to so for the next however long I'm giving make-up exams (hour, maybe?)... meanwhile... place this quote: Daisies are the friendliest flowers.

Back to School :-)

So I got a call this weekend... from Rice University. Not only did they accept me, but they granted me a fellowship and some other assistance... all my tution is paid for, for four years!

Baylor called today and wanted to offer me a job. I had to turn them down... on account of going to school in August.

Little Kitty got out the other day... she spent 7 or 8 hours in the wide world of suburbia... and then came home. She's been dying to go back out since then, but we need to get her fixed (!) before then (the last thing we need is a house full of little kitties).

The battle with the dentists continues... crazyness all around.

I think I did a bad thing. I just fed a kitten. She was a little bitty calico kitten (the kind that hasn't quite gotten big enough for it's head yet), and she was whining at my door when I got home from the store... and now she's sitting right outside the door devouring a can of tuna. she's about half way done wiht it, which is amazing, as she's not too much bigger than the tuna can.

I'm not usually a cat person... and we can't have cats here (landlord, Chad's allergies, etc)... anyone want a cat? :-)
