Better late than never...

So. Let me see if I can sum up.
  1. I did NaNo this year... and only fell short by about 7000 words (I'm going to blame sickness and travel for not winning this year. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it). It was awesome, and I will probably participate again in 2010. 'Nuff said.
  2. Had a very awesome (but completely crazy and also full of drama on pretty much every front) trip home for Christmas and New Years. Did not visit half the people we intended to, but visited a few we weren't planning to, so I guess it worked out. Brianna had a great time and now has way too many toys that make noise.
  3. I got to hold my first ever nephew! When he was only a few hours old! And it was awesome. I am an Aunt. A *real* aunt, no matter what other people might tell you about. And that's all I have to say about that, as well.
  4. I made a ton of New Years resolutions. Sadly, most of them aren't blog appropriate quite yet. Suffice it to say, not much has changed (resolution-wise) since this time last year. Except I've given up on the losing weight thing - my goal is to not gain a ridiculous amount of weight this year. I figure that one's more attainable, lol.
  5. Brianna will be a year old in a couple of weeks. Blows my mind. She's walking (running), chattering up a storm (there's words in there, but we don't understand them yet), and generally finding every bit of trouble she can to get into. She is very good at getting into trouble :-)
  6. And that's really all I have to say for the moment. I will really try to get online and update a little more frequently, but I got a half-dozen Lego video games for Christmas, so I'm not sure how well that will actually go ;-)

Maybe I've been here before / I know this room, I've walked this floor

Having a good visit home.

Busy though, so I apologize to everyone I haven't contacted about getting together, etc. Went to Sbbn's wedding today... it was great, but all I have to say is this: Hallelujah by Rufus Wainwright is not a wedding song. I'm just sayin.

Anyway. Must eat food. And stuff. Going to Memphis tomorrow, Home wednesday.

Home sweet home...

We are home. And I got to sleep in my bed last night, which was awesome.

However, the animals are now lonely. Mocha is crying, because she doesn't have Princess (Chad's parent's dog) to play with, and Kitty cried all night looking for the other cats (Chad's parent's cats). So it might take them a little bit to get readjusted.

other than that, things are ok. I managed to kill my back over the break, which I then agrivated by spending a million hours in the car, lifting things I should have known not to lift, and sleeping on beds that were too small to hold me, Chad, a dog and a cat. So now I get to go to the doctor and let her tell me how stupid I was. Yay for doctors! or something.

Ok... back in huntsville, cooling my heels in town, trying to get wedding stuff done. Yeah.

Gripe of the moment: The entire world is on an Atkin's Diet kick.... low (or no) carb, high protien.... which is ok, I guess, for most people. But. As one of the apparently five people in the world *not* on the atkin's Diet.... enough. I am sick of eating out and being asked if I want to low carb alternative to my food, or whatever. Alcohol is even low carb now.... Bacardi and Diet Coke? I mean really. It is great that there are lots more low carb alternatives out there... I just am tired of them being in my face all the time. I want to be able to eat a bowl of pasta at a resteraunt without feeling guilty because it itn't labeled "smart eating" (like the 16-oz steak). Blah.

Anyway. Better now. If I can survive a week at home, I'll be doing great! :-)

Computer fixed... mostly. So now I have not excuse for not updating.

Except, like... midterms. *sigh*

I'll be home for spring break next Friday sometime. Home for almost a week. Yeah.

Anyway. Must go finish reinstalling all my software :-P
