In other news: Went to a wedding this weekend (the last before mine...). It was fun. And interesting. And different. Basically, it was a big excuse for a bunch of people to get together and get drunk, all while making jokes at the expense of the bride and groom, and cursing everyone within thoring distance with engagement, marriage, and children, in turn. (I would like to point out that no one actually hit me with any of these, but as the first two are true anyway... we'll wait on the last one. Sorry, Mom). We all had a good time, but Chad and I left earlier than a lot of people... We left when the drunk Aunt of the groom stuffed lavender down our clothes and told us to go enjoy each other's lavenderness... it was then we realized that *everyone* at the reception was, in fact, mostly drunk (this would be due, in part at least, to the really good homemade sangria that was masquerading as punch).
So we went back to Chad's apartment, where everyone (there was a party there, too) was also mostly drunk... and all underage. And watching porn. Great combonation, let me tell you. Haj made it back at some odd hour of the morning, totally drunk. Left before 8am to go home, though... Chad nad I left Starkville between 11:30 and noon... now I'm back here in Huntsville, trying to find a day this week when it's not going to rain, so as to schedule my bridal pictures. Ha.
Another post on the broken blog... I am truely hopeless.
I'll be in Starkville this weekend... but as to whether I actually get to see anyone there... eh. We'll see. Going to a wedding. Again. This is the last one until mine, though. Which is nice.
Ho hum. Off to go do housework. And maybe get to visit the office later.
I'm blogging... but the server is broke, and thus you won't be able to get to the blog for a while, all you'll get is the stupid white wolf thing my domain now points too... But krys has promised to fix it, so it'll be fixed at some point (Amazing that people should have to take time for like, family and jobs that actually pay money and stuff).
Anyway. Went to a really nice really expensive wedding this weekend... had a lot of fun. Saw lots of things I liked, nothing I could afoard for my own wedding :-)
And I'm staying here most of this week, and doing more wedding stuff... less than three weeks to go. Yay!
So. Wedding news up to this point. We have a Photographer. Yay. I have to run and put the deposit down today or tomorrow. I have a dress, shoes, petticoats, underwear, stockings, a veil, a tiara, a travelling outfit, and an entire box of stuff to wear on the honeymoon. We have a Unity candle, a guest book, and a fluffy feather pen. Two of the bridesmaids bouquets are done, and the other two are close... my bouquet is short one flower, and it'll be done. My Aunt has volunteered as wedding director, if we need one... and I'm going to take the pianist the music today. 9/10 of our invitations are out... I have to get more stamps today (and Chad need to get me the last 4 or 5 addresses). We have toasting glasses and serveware... We've ordered printed napkins. So what's left?
We need a cake. We need to fght with my mother about whether we're getting premade mints, or making them ourselves. We need programs, and program paper. We need to tie ribbions around all the bottles of bubbles. And there's one bridesmaid left that hasn't tried on her dress. and, closer to time, we need to order food trays. We also need plates and silverware, and cups, and pretty trays to put the food on.... and someone to put the food on the prety trays. And I think that's it.
We're making it. Slowly but surely. It's all coming together.
In other news, my brother got his drivers liscense... and my sister got her permit. But... Rob having his liscense means I don't have to get up at 5am any more... and i can make him drive places.
It looks like I may be in birmingham on Wednesday, just for the day (or, afternoon and evening)... I may be bringing both of my siblings, we'll see. Plans while I'm down there: Go to the cemetary, maybe squeeze in some shopping, eat dinner with William, and *Maybe* watch Harry Potter (finally).
Blah. Sorry I disappeared for a couple of days. Things have been wild here. I went to Memphis for the weekend, came back on Tuesday... then Chad and I tried to make wedding plans and reservations and stuff here...
And now I'm tired. I haven't had time to sit down in like, three days. I haven't spoken to very many people (except a couple of very short im conversations)... I haven't even had that much to say to my family. I've just done wedding stuff.
So. I'm going to bed early tonight. And going out shopping for shoes and stuff like that with my mother tomorrow. Yay.
I would like to point out that I am probably the only girl in the world to get married with Lion slipper socks (that actually roar) in my trousseau. That's just cool.
So now you'll know how long it takes me to get them addressed and sent out. I still have to get the maps and directions to the church printed out... should get that done tomorrow, and we hsould be ready to rock and roll. Or something.
I had to fight with the post office today... see, I wanted 100 of the .60 stamps with flowers on them, and 100 of the .37 candy heart stamps... so I went to the Mastin Lake post office. And they looked at me like I was crazy. The only stamps, I'm told, that they have 100 of, are flag stamps. They actually didn't have *any* of either of the stamps I was looking for, and offered to seel me 20 Dr. Suess stamps instead. When asked where to go to find said stamps, the lady said (and I'm not joking)... "Well, you could try the Wynn Drive post office... it's a Fah-la-del-ic center. Or the post office sells stamps on it's website, but I don't rememebr the web address. I think there's a 1-800 number, but I don't know what it is, either."
So I left, trying to figure out what the crap Fahladelic was... a few minutes later, it hit me. Philatelic (Fil-a-te-lic). Like, stamp collecting. And all this time, I had being trying to relate it to something Freudian.
The Wynn drive post office, by the way, had everything I needed. And the USPS website, should you ever wonder (don't ask the Post Office people, they don't know)... is http://www.usps.com.
Found out last night my internship isn't going to happen. Which is good (more time), and bad (less money, stay at home, don't get to work with the NE team). I might have to find another job.... but I don't know what I would find for short term on this short a notice... maybe Huntsville Hospital needs a short term computer person? Lookig into Space Camp, not sure that will work on such a short time line, though.
Anyway. Not so much new here. Passing everything, at the moment. Which is good. Failing is bad... graduation is good... moving is annoying... getting married is good... wedding planning is complicated... grad school is good...
Ok... back in huntsville, cooling my heels in town, trying to get wedding stuff done. Yeah.
Gripe of the moment: The entire world is on an Atkin's Diet kick.... low (or no) carb, high protien.... which is ok, I guess, for most people. But. As one of the apparently five people in the world *not* on the atkin's Diet.... enough. I am sick of eating out and being asked if I want to low carb alternative to my food, or whatever. Alcohol is even low carb now.... Bacardi and Diet Coke? I mean really. It is great that there are lots more low carb alternatives out there... I just am tired of them being in my face all the time. I want to be able to eat a bowl of pasta at a resteraunt without feeling guilty because it itn't labeled "smart eating" (like the 16-oz steak). Blah.
Anyway. Better now. If I can survive a week at home, I'll be doing great! :-)
Computer no longer in shop, but needs OS reinstall. It'll be the weekend before I have time to fool with it.
no longer going to Boston in the fall, staying here to get a master's degree and possibly teach labs or somehting (we are no longer "the Pirates who don't do anything", apparently we are "the pirates who go to grad school") Good and bad qualities to that one...
midterms are upon us... therefore, I am insanely busy, and thus also have recontracted my sinus infection (I think). But... after Thursday, it will be much (more) better(er). And I might have time to sleep. Or not.
Spring break is coming. This is what we are all holding out for. *sigh* A week of rest and relaxation and... wedding planning.
I think that's about it for the moment... life is generally ok... I'm looking forward to not having to drag all my stuff home over the summer break... books and stuff are a pain to move.

So I survived the first week of school... and Elisa's wedding.
And I have decided that Chad and i are going to run away. Weddings are a pain in the butt.
Other than that... not much has happened lately. I've written and turned in two papers, done two seperate sets of homework problems, and turned in a cool security lab thingy. Other than that, mostly I've just gone to class. Blah.
Classes look good this semster, though... lots of fun stuff, lots of good instructors. Yay for me.
I should be researching for several Ethics papers and an Ethics presentation in the next couple of weeks, so expect some odd philosophical/ethical dilemma links and stuff. :-)
Anyway. Now I'm going to go to bed, because I've actually slept *counting...* 5 hours in the last two days? If I go to bed right now... I can get close to 7 hours tonight. Unless my roommate decides to watch The Ring at midnight again tonight. In which case I'll wake up like, every five minutes because I'm sure something crawled out of the TV to get me. The Ring isn't a particularly good movie to try to sleep through...
In other news, I bought my wedding veil last weekend. It's white, and fluffy, and kinda long... and it sits on the top of my head, and it has like, pearls and beads on it.
It has awful static cling at the moment, though. So at some point in the next year, I need to invest in anti-static spray.
So this is how the wedding's shaping up so far.
Groom: Check. Veil: Check. Dress pattern: Check. Fabric: Partial check. Bridesmaid dresses: ok, so this is where at all falls apart. I have my stuff picked out.... but not really much for my girls, or for the rest of the wedding. *sigh*
Maybe I'll make Chad do all the planning, and sit around and complain about his decisions. That sounds like a fun idea. *eVil grin*
