Had a good birthday :-)

Saturday, Chad was LARPing in Columbus, and William and Bob and I went out to Cappe's and ate wonderful steak. Then William and I chilled at my apartment for a few minutes, and went to the Hunt Club to people watch and celebrate... and then came back here to play DDR. (actually, I played DDR, and William made fun of the Techno remix of the Neverening Story theme). And Matt joined us after a bit.

Then Sunday, which was actually my birthday, I slept until 2pm, which was really 3pm, because I forget about daylight savings time. And I called my mom, and she talked for like, an hour and a half. Then Chad took me out to dinner, ribs and chicken, which was really awesome. And we came back to the house, baked an awesome chocolate cake, and watched the Pagemaster. And two episodes of Stargate Atlantis. And i spent the birthday money Grandmother sent me on an Evanescence CD and the Pope's new book (which Chad said was a great combination).

And today, I ate lunch with William, and then discovered my class was cancelled. So I've been doing homework. But our wireless router is down, and I don't have the passowrd to it to fix it... so I'm tied to a land line. Blah.

Things I got for my birthday:
Smart Mass Thinking Putty (from William)
Albert Einstien Action Figure (also from William)
The Book of Erotic Fantasy (from Chad)... relax, it's a roleplaying book, not a pr0n book. It's art. I swear. (actually, it's mostly words and stats).

ok... so reports from NC.

The weekend has been pretty cool. Yesterday I went to the NC Museum of History, and the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. Both free. And very cool. The history museum had a cool centennial of flight exibit, which I very much enjoyed, and the Natural science place had lots of cool bugs and snakes and stuff. And the gift shop had lots of cool things to look at and buy (Christmas shopping, anyone?)... And I got somehting for Chad I could give him now... a wolf christmas ornament (more difficult to find than you would imagine).

Last night I went and hung out with people after the game was over (like, 1:30am)... Which was cool because apparently Chad's character got wrapped up in some high level plot and did some cool stuff (and didn't die), so he got to tell everyone about it, and they got to ooh and ahh about it :-) As a side note, Tony had mixed up some wild tropical drink that they had me try... I'm going to have to get all his recipes. He makes good fluffy type mixed drinks.

Today, I slept. Oh yeah. It was great. Then I stole Chad's truck and went to the mall. Which I found yesterday, while looking for the museums. And I found out the August Max is going out of business! I'm so buying a whole bunch of stuff from them when I go back to Huntsville. While it's cheap. That's some of the most comfy dress clothes ever. Ever.

And I went and visited Chad in the vendor's room and bought me a t-shirt... it's navy blue with this design on it. It's so me!! They had some other shirts, including Dork Tower stuff there, too (like a shirt that said "No pain, no +1 str"), but I could only justify one. Oh well.

Now, I must try and do hmework (or goof off) for 6 or 7 hours until the game ends again (supposed to be 1am). Tomorrow we go home (not sure how early though... might stay for closing ceremonies, might not). Yay for vacations!

Dude... This conference is exactly like a live action version of Dork Tower. It's interesting to discover that there are people that are more weirder and more into White Wolf than our own beloved Cammies back home. It's gonna be a fun weekend... ;-)

Back.

Not a whole lot to say though. Stuff happened this weekened... Chad got a car (SUV) to replace the dying Intrepid... Some crackho/stupid kid stole my gameboy... we played games with friends and family in the Memphis area (when we weren't car shopping)... we did lots of stuff. but for some reason, I don't feel like saying much.

I need to go write papers and stuff. Because lots of it is due this week. And more of it is due next week. And I will be gone most of the weekend enjoying the sights of North Carolina while Chad enjoys the sights of the end of the World (the White Wolf world, of course. Don't worry... it restarts in January. As if you were worried. Ha). I will have my computer... but I'm not sure how much internet access I will have, as I refuse to pay some outrageous per hour fee for wireless like the last couple of hotels I have stayed in charged. Maybe ours will be more reasonable. Or maybe I'll have to find the library, or an internet cafe or something.

But yeah. If I'm quiet, that's why.

Oh yeah... a key fell off of my keyboard today. One day. After. I was in a town with a Best Buy where they could fix it. Stupid thing will have to wait until Christmas break. Grr.

I really am going to go do more work now (my first paper of the night, due tomorrow, is about 75 words from being finished. Then I have to write a bunch of software engineering stuff, and an abstract for a paper on user interfaces... and something else that I can't remeber right now).

In some ways, I miss watching/hearing about Troy... in others, I don't. White Wolf, whilst having all the drama and much more (in and out of game) politics than Troy, is lacking in the cool boffer weapons and forts in the woods.

And Chad is the only one of y'all that has any clue what I'm talking about.

Ok... life and mood right now in a nutshell:

  1. Yay for the rediscovery of information on old hard drives :-)

  2. Not yay for people who change White Wolf schedules at the last possible minute, thereby throwing chaos into any plans people might have made on the weird assumption that these things were somewhat static.

  3. Yay for sleep. I don't often get much of it, but I've slept for basically three or four days now, and I think it might be kind of addictive. I dunno... maybe I should break the habit before it gets worse :-)

  4. Not yay for doctor's appointments. Because they suck.

  5. Yay for good grades, and a good class schedule (tenatively) for next semester.

  6. Not yay for having to deal with stupid people. That has to be like, my biggest pet peeve ever... stupid people really really get to me. I don't think I can stress this one enough...

Ok. All I can think of for the moment.

Thinking about going to sleep. Somewhat hyper, but not the fun kind of hyper that makes you jump around and do things... more the edgy kind of hyper you get from lack of sleep... or too much sleep, I guess. That's prolly it. I've slept too much. I should boycott sleep tonight... heh heh heh.
